New Season Real Ancient Madder

The printing of authentic Real Ancient Madder silk is far from being a lost art. The colours produced from madder dyestuffs and meticulous printing are simply not to be duplicated in another medium. The rich, deep, slightly dusty hues of Madder red, burgundy, barely faded jade and indigo, and Madder buff (a golden hue that imparts a glow of amber) printed by the silk-screen method on foulard or twill silk is an ancient, traditional art. The dye bite also gives the silk that distinctive soft bloom prized by aficionados for its extra bit of weight and sensually chalky hand.
